PART-TIME TAX COLLECTOR

 

The Borough of Belmar is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Part-Time Tax Collector. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the collection of municipal taxes and related duties as required by New Jersey statute and Borough policy. Some in-person office hours will be required. This position requires an initial in-person commitment of approximately 3–4 hours per week, with the remainder of duties performed remotely as needed. In-person hours may be reduced over time as the role is established.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid New Jersey Tax Collector Certification or be actively in the process of obtaining certification.
• Experience with Edmunds Government Software is required.
• Knowledge of New Jersey tax collection laws, procedures, and practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
