Chief Financial Officer – Plainsboro Township

The Township of Plainsboro (Middlesex County) seeks an experienced full-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Director of Finance with a minimum 3+ years’ experience as a CFO in municipal and/or county finance.   The Township has a $39+ million operating budget, maintains an AAA bond rating with the past 10+ years of audits resulting in no findings or recommendations.   Key responsibilities include oversight of the tax collection, tax assessing, payroll and purchasing functions, as well as preparing and maintaining annual operating and capital budgets, grant accounting, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, cash management, debt management, audit assistance, 1099 preparation, oversight of capital and trust funds, monitoring internal financial controls and other related duties as needed. The desired candidate must hold NJ CMFO license, have the ability to work closely with other department heads and staff, possess strong analytical and management skills, a professional demeanor, excellent communication capabilities, knowledge of NJ law, DLGS policies, FAST system and proficiency in Microsoft applications. Experience with Edmunds software and ADP Payroll is preferred.  QPA Certification is a plus.  Salary range is $93,625 - $169,650 per year, commensurate with experience/qualifications and education.  Benefits include health, prescription, dental, generous paid leave, enrollment in NJ pension system and more.
