CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER – BOROUGH OF MOUNTAIN LAKES, Morris County.

The Borough of Mountain Lakes seeks an experienced full-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who holds a New Jersey CMFO license and has 5+ years’ experience in a municipal finance setting, either as an Assistant CFO or CFO. The Borough operates a $12+ million Operating Budget, and Water and Sewer Utility budgets (each $1+ million). Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining annual operating and capital budgets, bank reconciliations, maintaining general ledger, cash management, debt management, assisting with audits, overseeing capital and trust funds, monitoring internal financial controls, supervising staff, assisting with payroll process, handling special projects, participating in finance advisory committee meetings and other related duties as needed. 

 

The desired candidate will possess the following qualifications: CMFO certification, have strong management, mathematical, and analytical skills, professional demeanor, excellent communication abilities, knowledge of NJ law, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with Municipal Software (MSI) and Primepoint is preferred. Certification as a Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) is a plus.  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
