CFO/Director of Finance

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER / DIRECTOR OF FINANCE – HAMILTON TOWNSHIP (Mercer County)

Centrally located and bordering the State Capitol of Trenton, Hamilton Township in NJ’s ninth largest municipality with a population of 89,000. A suburban community with outstanding parks and open spaces, Hamilton is also served by major roadways and by train stations for the two major rail lines offering service to New York City and Philadelphia – NJ Transit and SEPTA. The Township is a full-service municipality operating under the Faulkner Act Mayor-Council form of government, with a budget of $142 million and 600+ employees, and a Sewer Utility budget of $18 million. Candidates for this position should possess NJ CMFO certification and have a minimum of five years of successful experience in the management of finances for a municipality or municipalities with substantial budget and staffing levels. Applicable education and experience and the ability to qualify for and receive CMFO certification within one year of appointment may be considered. The successful candidate will be responsible for all municipal finance functions and will assist the Township auditor with preparation of the annual financial statements. Working knowledge of MS Office applications and a high level of experience and skill with Edmunds software are essential for this position. The salary for this position will be negotiable. Accountant

The Town of West New York (Hudson County) is seeking an Accountant with experience as an Accountant and/or a Bachelor's Degree supplanted by twenty-one (21) semester hour credits in professional accounting subjects. The accountant will have, under the general supervision of the CMFO and other appropriate officials, the responsibility of the financial administration and management of escrow and trust accounts, payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT's) and grants. The Town of West New York offers a competitive salary/benefits package and a friendly work environment.
Experience: Two to three (2-3) years of experience as an accounting or performing accounting tasks. Four-year college or university degree is required, preferably in accounting with a minimum of twenty-one (21) semester hour credits in accounting subjects. Possession of a valid certificate as a Registered Municipal Accountant or Ce11ified Public Accountant issued by the NJ State Board ofCe11ified Public Accounts or as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer issued through NJ Dept. of Community Affairs, Division of Local Gov't Services may be substituted for the above educational requirement.
