Tax Collector BOROUGH OF NATIONAL PARK (Gloucester County) - Seeking Full Time Certified Tax Collector with current certification issued by the DCA to replace current Tax Collector retiring 12/31/17. Approximately 1,200 line items and a water/sewer utility for the same. At least five years of experience as a Tax Collector preferred, will accept years as a Deputy if able to demonstrate the ability to comply with all statutory laws and perform the duties of the billing and collection processes. Candidate will be responsible for all adjustments, tax sale, liens, appeals, foreclosures, delinquent notices, billing of tax levy and utility rents, collections, and other daily operations. Must be proficient in Edmunds software system and Microsoft Suite as well as have strong customer service and communication skills for interactions with the public. Collector will oversee experienced water clerk and assistant. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Approximately 8,223 line items and a sewer utility. At least 3 years’ experience as a Certified Tax Collector required. Must be proficient in the use of the Edmunds software system. Must have a thorough knowledge of municipal tax collection statutory laws and practices. Must possess strong customer service skills necessary for daily interaction with the public, as well as excellent reporting practices, including annual levy reconciliation. Duties include liens redemption, tax sales, tax appeals, delinquent notices, collections of both sewer and tax payments. Must be proficient in MSWord, Excel and Outlook. F/T 37.5 hours per week. Tax Collector - State Fiscal Year Municipality The CITY OF TRENTON, (Mercer County), is seeking a Certified Tax Collector with New Jersey Fiscal Year Certification issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs with 5 years of Tax Collector experience. Applicants must have thorough knowledge of municipal tax collection laws and practices. Duties include estimated tax bills, billing taxes, lien redemptions, online tax sale, tax appeals, delinquent notices, in lieu of taxes and foreclosures. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. Knowledge of First Byte is a plus. Water and Sewer billing is done by a separate division, cashiers functions are performed under the Treasurer’s office. Trenton’s most recent tax billing was based on a just completed revaluation. Our current collection rate for FY17 was 93.77%. There are approximately 27,500 line items of which 2,830 are tax exempt. The tax exempt properties are 51% of the total ratables. Salary range is $86,811 to $119,716.
