Somerville Borough-(Somerset County) $22 million current fund budget; 3200 line items, $3.1million sewer utility budget. Strong interpersonal skills necessary for daily contact with the public. Experience using Edmunds tax and utility software. Duties include performing work involved in the collecting of property taxes and sewer utility payments, batching, preparation and reconciliation of daily deposits, maintaining monthly reports, quarterly billing, quarterly delinquent notices for both taxes and sewer utility, special assessments, lien redemption and replying to OPRA requests. Excel/Word proficient, detail-oriented and a highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic.  Knowledge of Edmunds Financial Software and Excel required.      Tax Collector
TAX COLLECTOR EAST RUTHERFORD BOROUGH, (Bergen County)- Full time position. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, supervises and performs the work involved in collecting of property taxes, serves as Tax Search Officer and does related work as required. Thorough knowledge of municipal tax collection laws, practices, and procedures required. The Borough of East Rutherford operates with a $25.5million current fund budget; 2500 line items and a $2.1million sewer utility budget. Must possess strong interpersonal skills necessary for daily contact with the public and must have experience using Edmunds tax and utility software. Other duties include lien redemption, quarterly delinquent notices for both taxes and sewer authority, special assessments, state and county appeals, replying to OPRA requests and preparing resolutions.  Must be Excel/Word proficient and detail-oriented. The successful candidate must be motivated, hardworking and detail oriented.  Possession of a current and valid Tax Collector’s Certificate issued by NJ required.
