     Accountant/Tax Auditor
  • The Township of Irvington (Essex County) is seeking (3) full time Accountant/Tax Auditors  Salary: $ 60,000. Candidates who have experience with aspects of the Finance/Tax Collection. The Position requires knowledge of Edmund’s Tax/Finance Program and Microsoft Office.  Responsibilities include performing all aspects of billing, collections, liens and redemptions, reconciling cash receipts and bank reconciliations, refunding overpayments, tax court judgements and all other related duties. Knowledge of the principles and methods used in accounting and auditing. Knowledge of the methods used to discover and correct errors in financial documents. Knowledge of New Jersey Tax Collections laws and applicable accounting procedures is a must. Minimum of 2 years working within a Tax/Finance department. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field with a minimum of 21 credits in accounting from an accredited college or university is required. The Township of South Orange Village (Essex County) is accepting applications for a full time position of Tax Clerk in the Tax Collector’s office. Duties include collection of Taxes, Sewer, and miscellaneous revenues. The desired candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and customer service skills. Candidate must be computer literate and possesses knowledge of Excel/word.  Good number and excellent communication skills are necessary. Ideal candidate must be quick to learn multiple procedures, and must be able to handle cash diligently. Prior Tax Collector’s Office experience is required and knowledge of First Byte system is a plus.
