County Tax Administrator TAX ADMINISTRATOR- CAMDEN COUNTY Duties & Responsibilities: Highly skilled administrative and technical work in planning, organizing, directing, and administering comprehensive tax programs involving real property appraisal and assessment, tax listing, valuation and revaluation.
Under the supervision of the County Board of Taxation, County Tax Administrator is responsible for administrative functions of the Board. Duties include, but are not limited to preparation and completion of all reports and forms required of the County Board of Taxation under New Jersey state law such as annual development of the county equalization table and county abstract of ratables; supervision of all Camden County Municipal Assessors, in accordance with statutory provisions; receiving all tax appeal petitions and collecting the appropriate associated fees; scheduling all tax appeal hearings; issuing all Board memoranda of judgements; scheduling & attending monthly public meetings of the Board; providing accurate tax database projections to the County Administrator and Finance Director for use in preparing the County’s annual budget; communicating frequently with the County Administrator concerning any issues pertaining to the department and keeping the Board apprised of such communications; supervision of all departmental staff; and enforcing administrative rules and orders issued by the Board.
Position requires excellent management, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; the ability to work collaboratively and professionally in all interactions in the execution of the duties of the position. Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with coursework in business administration, finance, or related field and considerable experience with real property assessment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
