2013 President of the Tax Collectors & Treasurers Association

It is a privilege to be able to lead the Tax Collectors & Treasurers Association of New Jersey as it celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2013. 

The past few months have been very difficult for many of the citizens of New Jersey as they recover from the devastation brought by Superstorm Sandy and the Nor’ Easter of the following week. Coming from Ocean County I witnessed first hand the hardships these unprecedented natural disasters brought. The TCTANJ has pledged to work with our citizens to help them face the burden of property taxes on property that has been severely damaged or destroyed as a result of these events.

 The members of the TCTANJ, as professionals and public servants, stand ready to assist in every way possible the citizens of New Jersey. Please feel free to call on your local tax collector or finance officer with any questions you may have. 

We are highly trained, licensed professionals ready and willing to assist our citizens.

  • The State Tax Court  updates their website monthly www.judiciary.state.nj.us/taxcourt/monthlyjdgmnts.pdf with the new report of judgments for the previous month.  It should be noted that you will need to reach out to your town attorney and / or assessor for copies of any stipulations that may have been taken into consideration for these judgments.  Please note that the report is now searchable by municipality.  Prior reports for 2010 can be retrieved at www.judiciary.state.nj.us/taxcourt/taxcaseinfo.htm.  For questions regarding this procedure please contact Pat Turin at pturin@dca.state.nj.us or 609-292-6858.

OUR MISSION

The Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association of New Jersey is a professional organization dedicated to strengthening and supporting its members. Our goals include providing easily accessible and convenient continuing education courses, as well as keeping our members updated on information pertinent to their profession. The Association also acts as a source providing members with answers to questions and concerns they might have regarding issues relevant to them. Most importantly, by taking legislative initiative, we speak as a united voice for our profession. This way, we are able to advocate policies that are favorable to the Certified Tax Collectors and Certified Municipal Finance Officers of the State of New Jersey.
